Heat stomp Celtics in Game 7, carry dream run into NBA Finals

After the Miami Heat suffered a heartbreaking Game 7 defeat to the Boston Celtics in the 2022 Eastern Conference finals,

Butler vowed to help his team go over the hump. Butler's promise was fulfilled exactly one year later.

Following a convincing 103-84 victory over Boston in Game 7 of the conference finals on Monday night, Miami became the second No. 8 seed to go to the NBA Finals, joining the 1999 New York Knicks.

Butler had remarked, "Figure out a way to be consistent," following Miami's Game 7 loss in 2022, which had seen him miss a possible game-winning 3-pointer.

Butler's predictions have come true throughout the Heat's incredible postseason run.

He won the Larry Bird Trophy as the MVP of the Eastern Conference finals on Monday with his 28 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in 43 minutes.
