Houston weather: Memorial Day weekend sunscreen.

The National Weather Service in League City anticipates a largely sunny, hot, and dry Memorial Day weekend for Houston

So many tourists will visit Bolivar Peninsula, Galveston, Surfside Beach, and other Texas coast destinations.

This weekend, remember that sharks and jellyfish aren't the biggest health risks at the beach.

Sunscreen and shade can prevent skin cancer, the most frequent cancer in the US.

Some places forecast lows in the mid-60s, with slightly milder temperatures along the shore.

Friday night

Beach day is Saturday. The weather service predicts partly cloudy, 80s to low 90s temperatures. It won't rain.

Sunday will be like Saturday, but rainier. South of Houston, afternoon rain is expected.

Looking ahead

Though showers may be scattered, rain chances will rise through Tuesday. Rain chances diminish after Tuesday.
