The Celtics will keep their All-NBA duo together for years to come if Jayson Tatum gets his way.
The Boston Celtics' attention has since turned to their future after their season-ending loss to the Miami Heat on Monday night at TD Garden.
That also applies to Jaylen Brown's uncertain future, who is qualified to sign a supermax contract extension this summer.
The two-time All-Star will play the 2023–24 NBA season under an expiring contract if Brown and Boston are unable to come to an agreement in the upcoming months.
Tatum emphasized his desire to continue playing with Brown when asked about the significance of extending his contract after Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
According to ASAP Sports, Tatum told reporters, "It's very important." He is among the league's top players.
He is still fairly young and plays both ends of the field. And throughout his career, he has accomplished a great deal. Therefore, I consider it to be quite significant.
