Jayson Tatum injury update: Celtics star says he was 'shell of myself' after first quarter play in Game 7 loss

The Celtics' attempt to win the Eastern Conference Finals after falling behind 3-0 was severely hampered in just 26 seconds.

Star forward Jayson Tatum attempted to take on Miami's Gabe Vincent in the paint after receiving a pass from Al Horford.

Tatum rolled his ankle after he landed on Vincent's foot after attempting to Euro step around Vincent and attempted a disputed jumper.

Tatum tried to play through his apparent pain after the play, but he wasn't as effective as normal as the team lost to the Heat 103-84.

"I saw it after the game when I came down, my ankle and it's tough because it kinda impacted me the rest of the night, swelled up," Tatum said following the game.

"I was just kind of like a shell of myself, which was frustrating. Moving is difficult. Simply put, it was irritating, especially because it happened on the opening play.
