Jimmy Butler, Caleb Martin lead Heat past Celtics in Game 7

In Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals on Monday night, Jimmy Butler scored 28 points and Caleb Martin added 26 points

and 10 rebounds to help the Miami Heat defeat the Celtics 103-84 and prevent an improbable comeback by Boston.

After losing a 3-0 series lead, the Heat battled back and made it to the NBA Finals for the second time in four years. 

 The first game against the Western Conference champion Nuggets will take place on Thursday night in Denver.

For Miami, which is the first No. 8 seed to compete for a championship since the 1999 New York Knicks, Bam Adebayo scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

The Larry Bird Award, named for the Celtics Hall of Famer, was given to Butler as the Eastern Conference Finals' Most Valuable Player.

6th game hero Derrick White scored 18 points for Boston, which was attempting to advance after falling behind 0-3 in a best-of-seven series for the first time in NBA history.
