Helmut Marko, advisor for Red Bull Motorsport, has explained how pre-event simulator sessions interfered with the team's Friday practice running at the Monaco Grand Prix.
After a strong second practice after having trouble the entire first one, Max Verstappen finished the day as the fastest of all.
The two-time F1 World Champion complained that he had to pit for adjustments to his RB19 before he "shunted" due to balance and ride issues that plagued him for the first 60 minutes of the race.
According to Marko, "the issue was the setup we adopted from the simulator."
"On Wednesday, this made us ecstatic, but things didn't turn out well.
The right direction is where we are now. Although the setup is not yet perfect, it appears to be quite good.
