Play-off final: Luton Town completes remarkable rise to the Premier League

On Saturday, Luton Town defeated Coventry City on penalties in the Championship play-off final to secure a spot in the Premier League for the upcoming season

Tom Lockyer, a stalwart defender for Luton, had to be carried off the field after collapsing with no one nearby as the game got off to a concerning start.

Thankfully, the club later revealed that he had been taken to a hospital for evaluation and was conscious.

After 23 minutes, Jordan Clark scored for Luton with a strong finish at the near post as the Hatters completely controlled the first half of play.

Gustavo Hamer's precise finish into the bottom corner gave Coventry the equalizer their improved play merited as they came back strongly after the break.

After 90 minutes of play, the score remained tied, forcing extra time as the tension in the sold-out Wembley Stadium reached a fever pitch.
