The Miami Heat brutally ended the Celtics’ season of living dangerously

It turns out that there is a straightforward explanation for why no NBA club has ever come back to win a series after falling down 0-3: usually, the team in front is better prepared.

The Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics 103-84 in the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday night after regrouping after dropping their previous three games.

The Celtics struggled mightily to stay alive, but in the end they were severely damaged when their bad habits from earlier in the season reappeared.

Guard Malcolm Brogdon of the Boston Celtics stated after the game, "The hole we put ourselves in, it's hard. 

"No one has managed to escape that hole. Tonight was the same. The hole we dug was too deep for us to escape.
